COL on Tour: SHUG Studios

We went on tour! Circle of light took a trip down to SHUG studios in Seaford to collaborate and share the creative process with other young people. 

As many of the group had just begun writing their own music and forming their first bands, the day began at a steady pace. With many apprehensive but eager to be thrown into the musical deep end, everybody grabbed an instrument and a pen and threw ideas around the room. Our circle of light team took the reins, passing on the wisdom they had picked up during their time creating over the summer. It was particularly Inspiring for the younger participants to watch the older mentors in action, showing them that they could also evolve into seasoned mentors themselves one day. With Tiffany Jade supporting and encouraging the lyric writing process, Jess Thomas guiding the vocal arrangements, and Neo Hannan shining a light on the world of production and utilising samples - the room felt electric with musical possibility. Each and every person had blossomed throughout the session, stating that it was amazing to ‘collaborate’ and ‘meet new people’. By the end of the day the group had composed not only one, but four songs! 

It just goes to show that when passionate individuals come together in the right environment, magic will happen. This is what Circle of light is all about and we are ready and raring to take this concept to other cities in the coming months. It will be a delight to share this special experience with more people and watch the grassroots music scene grow.
