My selected genres are rap and rock, which are my two favourite genres to sing and play with. My biggest inspirations include Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Adam Young (Owl City), as well as bands such as The Beatles, Oasis and Green Day.
I’ve always been involved in the music world. I’ve been playing the drums for nine years and passed my Grade 8 exam last year, meaning that I am now eligible to teach. I also was a member of my primary school choir, I’ve taken part in the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and I’m currently a member of the Long Eaton Silver Prize Training Band. All of this was ultimately leading to a full career in music, and Circle of Light really helped me discover that dream.
I was able to connect with new people and finally work on my first few songs. Currently, I’m writing up new songs and want to learn how to produce. My ultimate goal is to achieve international fame with a successful career in the worlds of rap and rock, and collab with all my favourite artists.
For many of the young people involved in the project, this will be the first time performing these tunes on this scale. This includes 19-year-old Danny Riggz, who said: “I wanted to start my dream music career, with my skills and history in both singing and drumming.
“Joining the project helped me make new friends and began to open up a wave of new opportunities for me, as a way to slowly push me forward into the industry. I’m very happy that I joined and I’m looking forward to being part of it again next year.”
