Leicester Music Conference

In 2024 Circle of light took a trip down to the Leicester Music Conference. 

The day began with a series of panels, discussions and workshops exploring conversations around the music industry and breaking down what can seem like a daunting barrier from the outside looking in. Our young people used ‘fruitful’ to describe the knowledge they received, not only gaining nuggets of wisdom from industry professionals but also from other young artists themselves. Exploring topics such as securing funding as an artist, how perfectionism may be our own worst enemy and how marginalisation has led to musical innovation. The event provided a melting pot of musical finesse, urging everyone to ‘get involved’ in the conversation no matter how much or how little experience they had. 

Bringing the day to a close we indulged in performances from the likes of our very own EMiDORA, Elmz XIX and Omari Marsalis.
